What is an Organic Dry Scrubber?

An Organic Dry Scrubber is a highly efficient air pollution control system designed to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs), acidic gases, and odor-causing pollutants without the use of water or liquid chemicals.

Unlike wet scrubbers, this system uses specially engineered dry media such as activated carbon, impregnated alumina, or proprietary organic absorbents to capture and neutralize contaminants through adsorption and chemical reactions.

Working Principle

Organic dry scrubbers operate on the principle of adsorption and chemisorption. Contaminated air is passed through a bed of high-surface-area media where pollutants are captured and retained.

  • Step 2: Air is evenly distributed across the media bed using flow distributors.
  • Step 3: Organic compounds and gases adhere to the surface of the media.

  • Step 5: Clean air exits the system, meeting emission standards.

The performance of the system depends on parameters such as residence time, media type, pollutant concentration, and airflow rate.
